Browns' top pick Myles Garrett hurts foot late in practice

Browns' top pick Myles Garrett hurts foot late in practice”

Wednesday was a painful day for the Cleveland Browns.

Garrett left minicamp practice yesterday with a non-contact injury to what appeared to be his foot or his ankle, and there's fear it's the same ankle he hurt last September and affected him his entire junior year, leading to missed games and career-low stats. He stayed on the ground for almost a minute as Browns players and coaches looked on with concern. He stayed on the ground for almost a minute and was checked by a trainer and coach Hue Jackson before being helped up and hobbling to the sideline.

Garrett was able to limp his way back into the locker room at the team's practice facility in Berea.

Jackson said. "We're just in a minicamp, and I said I may or may not". We know those things happen. As of this morning the Browns haven't provided an update. So Jackson liked that Garrett stayed and watched the end of practice, which Jackson cut three plays short because of the weather interruption. The 6-foot-4, 272-pound Garrett had not been forthcoming about his previous injury, but said it was frustrating to be limited in practice.

Should Garrett's injury turn out to be serious, we'll be sure to update you.

Before signing a four-year, $72 million deal with the Texans, Osweiler was Peyton Manning's backup with the Denver Broncos.

"I mean, that's part of the game", Jackson said. Jackson can see whatever he wants, but a second-rounder getting first-team reps is always going to raise eyebrows. "Those things happen. Hopefully everything's OK". "He did some good things today and we'll see where we are".
