Deputies find 600 pounds of meth disguised as candy”

Harris County investigators have seized $1 million worth of meth in kid friendly packaging.

The sheriff's office believes the woman may have lived inside the home prior to the drug bust.

The police were responding to a report that a home was being burglarized, and noticed a man and woman taking the lollipops out of the house.

The suspects, identified as Evonne Christine Mick, 36, and David Andrew Salinas, 21, both face a charge of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance.

When Houston police showed up to investigate a report of a home burglary, they likely weren't expecting to find two people attempting to flee the scene in a auto overstuffed with 600 pounds of methamphetamine-laced lollipops.

Officers released several pictures of the seized drugs, showing a home filled with dozens upon dozens of bags prepared to hit the streets. Diaz said police found 600 pounds of meth lollipops in various different shapes from butterflies, flowers, bats to Star Wars characters inside.

Police believe a huge amount of methamphetamine-laced candy is being sold on the streets of Harris County.

"What if one of these lollipops were dropped in a neighborhood and a child picked it up?" Officers said the sweets came in different sizes and ranged from $20 to $40 in price.

Bags of the drugs had been loaded into the back seat of the vehicle, authorities said. Two people were arrested.
