I'd 100% Be Willing To Testify Under Oath To Rebut Comey

He said he deserved more credit for economic gains and stock market confidence.

"I believe the James Comey leaks will be far more prevalent than anyone ever thought possible". His intention, Comey said, was to get that information out to the public and set the wheels in motion for a special counsel to be appointed to look into the matter. And he said multiple times that he choose to take detailed notes about his interactions with Trump because he anxious the White House and President would lie about them if he didn't. Michael Conaway, a Texas Republican, and Adam Schiff, a California Democrat, sent a request Friday directly to Comey for copies of his memos.

TRUMP: 100%. I hardly know the man.

His jurisdiction included Trump Tower.

The president said Comey's testimony on Thursday before the Senate Intelligence Committee mostly vindicated his previous claims about their interactions.

"It appeared to be that he was trying to cultivate some kind of relationship", Bharara said. The president's lawyer has hinted the ousted lawman should be prosecuted for the leak.

The White House has seized on the part of Mr Comey's testimony where he said he had assured the president he himself was not under scrutiny over Russian Federation. There would be "nothing wrong if I did say" something regarding Flynn, Trump said "according to everybody I read today".

Trump, when asked about the possibility of those tapes during a press conference on Friday afternoon, would not rule out his earlier claim that his conversations with Comey may have been recorded. If there are not, he must hear, under oath, why Trump floated the freakish threat that they might exist.

Jack Reed reportedly told CNN's Wolf Blitzer Friday.

Trump refused to answer.

Comey said on Thursday that he believed that not his alleged incompetence, but the Russian Federation probe made Trump decide to fire him.

The reporter then asked if Trump would be willing to speak under oath, as Comey did, to give his version of the events.

The former Federal Bureau of Investigation chief was investigating whether the president or his campaign officials colluded with an alleged Kremlin plot to sway last year's United States presidential election in favour of Mr Trump. "Let's let the special investigation take its course and end". Chris Murphy urged investigators in the Senate to call upon Trump.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) told "State of the Union" that Sessions should also come before the Senate Judiciary Committee. At the same time, the head of the panel said its investigation is just getting started, and a second committee may summon Comey to testify.
