Kevin Durant's move to Golden State rewarded with MVP”

The Warriors won without Kevin Durant.

Golden State Warriors were simply too strong this year and they ran over the #Cleveland Cavaliers in just five games.

The Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 129-120 on Monday night at Oracle Arena in Game 5 of the Finals to win their second National Basketball Association championship in three seasons, wrapping up a 16-1 postseason run after finishing the regular season 67-15.

"But once you get that first, no matter what anybody says from now on in your career, they can't take away from you being a champion". And I just tried to do that, but also be aggressive.

The Warriors are math, yes, but at some point someone has to arrange and balance the equation. "You just pick yourself back up and you keep pushing and you keep going". "Now we're champs again".

It was the first time in National Basketball Association history that the same two teams have contested the finals for three straight years.

Durant averaged 35 points, eight rebounds and five assists per game, but the impressive part is he did it shooting 56 percent from the field. But the statistic most will point to after Cleveland's loss to Golden State is James' 3-5 record record in the Finals. Durant was front and center in that turnaround, hitting the go-ahead 3-pointer to provide the signature moment of the Warriors rally - and the series as a whole - in an 11-0 finish.

Durant accepted that he was jittery before the final match. "They're assembled as good as you can assemble, and I played against some really, really good teams that was assembled perfectly, and they're right up there". You've likely anticipated what it feels like to win that elusive title.

During their embrace this time around, Durant lifted his hand to his mouth and spoke in James' ear.

"Getting that first championship was for me like having my first son".

"Well I'm not happy he won his first, I'm not happy at all", James said. "I kept building on that from day one", Durant said. I need to get off of my feet and let my joints and let my body kind of recover from being out on the floor for 14 straight years. "Nothing you can look back on and now we just got to prepare and get ready again". "When you have them beat, you have to beat them".

"Obviously, there's a lot of hoopla and fanfare that follows you wherever you go, but I know where my talent comes from", he said in an interview with Decision.
