Amazon Open To Bringing Siri Onto The Echo

Amazon Open To Bringing Siri Onto The Echo”

You can get a Google Home or Amazon Echo for a little over $100.

So is the HomePod a glorified smart speaker?

Bloomberg reported last week that the company had begun to manufacture the device.

Created to work with an Apple Music subscription for access to over 40 million songs, Apple claims that HomePod provides knowledge of personal music preferences and tastes and helps users discover new music.

Because the HomePod boasts Siri as its smart virtual assistant, it can talk about a range of topics, from sports to news to movies and more.

HomePod is a rounded cylinder about 7-inches tall (it looks like the "trashcan" Mac Pro).

On the other hand, it's a very attractive proposition for Apple device users who already have an Echo device in their homes.

That assessment won't be put to the test until at least December when Apple's HomePod is released. This woofer features automatic bass equalization and real-time acoustic modeling.

Since the launch of Amazon's Echo previous year and Google Home in March, both of which have been popular with consumers, Apple had been widely expected to enter the market. It is, in fact, the same chip found inside the company's yester-year iPhones. According to reviewers at cnet.com, the HomePod boasts the best sound quality, but the Echo has the most functions among the three speakers.

The company details that it uses spatial awareness to work out its location and automatically adjust the audio depending on where it is in the room. The HomePod, however, isn't portable like its counterparts.

Similar to Google and Amazon smart speakers, the HomePod has an intelligent voice assistant baked in.

Having a total of six microphones, HomePod doubles as a home assistant - after all, it's powered by Siri.

The HomePod is designed specifically with Apple Music in mind, so it can offer you suggestions based on your music tastes to help you discover new artists. Siri can do everything you'd expect, like setting timers and playing music, but Siri is smarter now, especially where music is concerned. The other two have a much broader music support. It can tender news; read messages; set reminders, alarms, and timers; update information related to weather, traffic nearby and even translate one language to another.
