Arthur hails 'remarkable' Pakistan turnaround after Champions Trophy triumph

Arthur hails 'remarkable' Pakistan turnaround after Champions Trophy triumph”

No matter the conditions, you have to play good cricket.

Hasan Ali has starred with the ball for surprise package Pakistan, who, like India, will be roared on by a boisterous crowd on what is expected to be a hot day. There is no doubt about it. And that expectation from the thousands who will turn up at the Oval and the millions back home and around the world, as the ICC prepares for its cricketing El Dorado, will be the same - win at all costs.

"India is playing well".

Zaman was lucky on Sunday when he got new life after Jasprit Bumrah bowled a no-ball even as the Pakistani opener was caught behind by Dhoni.

"I am not going to reveal my plans, but we have a strategy prepared for the match", Sarfraz said. Mohammad Amir dismantled the top order, dismissing Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan with pace and swing.

The buzz for the final has been vast in England, too, where there is a large population from both the nations. I like to go by what I see coming out of the hand.

Pakistan's "magnificent turnaround" has impressed him but India captain Virat Kohli says there is nothing that his side needs to be overtly concerned about ahead of the Champions Trophy final against the arch-foes on Sunday. After that, it was hard for India to come back into the game. When he bowls well, it's a total relief for me as a captain because he can get you seven good overs.

When it comes to assessing most teams, the temptation is to look at their most recent result as a form guide. There is no doubt that India will win.

The war of words had always been there, but the curses, trolls, and uncalled for verbal volleys on social media have made an India-Pakistan tie into a very ugly affair in the recent past and it isn't much different in the build up to the ICCChampions Trophy final. Some teams start confidently and then they fade.

Meanwhile, Pakistan would consider it as a golden opportunity to avenge their first match defeat against India and clinch their maiden title. The last time Pakistan beat India was in 2009 ─ also during a Champions Trophy match.

India lost once in the tournament against Sri Lanka but have proved that was an aberration by scripting commanding victories over South Africa in a do-or-die game and then Bangladesh in the semi-final.

The 25-year-old left-armer missed Pakistan's shock eight-wicket semi-final win over tournament hosts England in Cardiff on Wednesday with a back spasm.

The Men in Blue have won all three of their previous matches against Pakistan in the knockout stages of International Cricket Council (ICC) tournaments to date.

This will be the fifth time India and Pakistan will have a face off in the Champions Trophy; the record is now balanced with two victories apiece.
