How Fans Reacted to Team India's Loss

Fans of Indian cricket team were clearly not pleased with India's defeat at the Champions Trophy and the locals in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur and Uttarkhand's Haridwar broke their TV sets and protested after Pakistan's win.

India captain Virat Kohli stated that he is proud of his team's performance in the recently concluded Champions Trophy 2017 tournament despite losing the final to Pakistan on Sunday.

Babar Azam chipped in with a solid 46 and Mohammad Hafeez struck three sixes in a punchy unbeaten 57 that left India needing to produce the highest successful run chase in the tournament's history to lift the trophy for the third time.

Pakistan's opening partnership of 128 between Azhar Ali and Zaman was instrumental as they put up a big score.

"Fakhar is a great impact player".

Amir (three wickets for 16 runs), still winning his sport over again after his criminal role in the 2010 spot-fixing saga enacted seven years ago and just a handful of miles away at Lord's, then reduced India to 33 for three - a perilous situation from which the overwhelming favourites were unable to recover, despite some astounding hitting from number seven Hardik Pandya (76).

"With the ball, we could have had more wicket-taking opportunities".

Pandya scripted the fastest half-century in a world One-Day International (ODI) final, reaching the landmark in 32 deliveries with three consecutive sixes off leg-spinner Shadab Khan.

Zaman scored his maiden century after he was handed a reprieve earlier in the innings when Jasprit Bumrah had him caught behind off a no ball while Amir picked the in-form Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Kohli inside the first powerplay to dent India's hopes. Amir had been ruled out of Pakistan's semi-final against England due to a back spasm during a practice session.

They didn't stop there as they came out with their best show in the final to bag their first Champions Trophy title.
