Pakistan beat India by 180 runs, lift Champions Trophy”

Team: Shikhar Dhawan (India), Fakhar Zaman (Pakistan), Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh), Virat Kohli (India), Joe Root (England), Ben Stokes (England), Sarfraz Ahmed (Pakistan) (captain and wicketkeeper), Adil Rashid (England), Junaid Khan (Pakistan), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (India), Hasan Ali (Pakistan), Kane Williamson (New Zealand) (12th man).

In his second over, one of the risky bowlers in today's cricket gave some hard time to the unsafe batsman in the World.

Fakhar Zaman departed after scoring a brilliant knock of 114 runs of 106 balls that included three sixes and 12 boundaries.

Azhar also continued his fine form, reaching fifty off 61 balls before he was run out following a mix-up with his partner.

Ashwin and Jadeja got a pounding from Zaman, who would clear his front leg and muscle the deliveries through on-side, occasionally hitting the inside out shot through extra cover.

But proving everyone wrong, Pakistan completely shattered India's hopes to win the title.

Mohammad Amir removed all of India's top three as Pakistan stunned their arch-rivals with a remarkable 180-run win in the Champions Trophy final at The Oval on Sunday.

Earlier, India were set a stiff 339-run target to retain the Champions Trophy title as Pakistan put on a splendid batting display to score 338 for four in the summit clash.

Pakistan bowlers bowled with objective and strength and it was specially Mohammad Amir (3-16), Junaid Khan (1-20) and Hasan Ali (3-19) who destroyed the fame batting lineup.

After losing 6 wickets for 72 runs, Pandya put up some fight against the Pakistani.

The win also gives Pakistan their first 50 over trophy since the World Cup back in 1992, and will certainly go some way to moving them out of their current 8th spot in the world ODI rankings. But just when it seemed good for the Pakistan team, Malik played a loose short off pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and gifted his wicket.

Jasprit Bumrah missed his line, length and step as he conceded 68 from his 9 overs and while Pandya had one of his better bowling days in the tournament that was never going to be enough as Pakistan marched towards 338 runs.

It was then over to Amir, who quickly dispelled the predictions of many that India could pull off a tournament and ground-record run chase - in the process silencing the majority support in a sell-out crowd for this high-profile showdown as their team folded to 158 all out in 30.3 overs.

Result: Pakistan beat India by 180 runs.

Only four of the eight participating teams - all semifinalists - find a place in the eleven of the Team of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
