Pokemon Go Undergoing Changes for Anniversary

Pokemon Go Undergoing Changes for Anniversary”

In time for its first year anniversary celebration, the Pokemon GO team is launching new updates and features aside from the in-game and real-world events. Many of those will affects the gyms, which from now on will be more accessible.

Niantic has temporarily shut down the Pokemon GO gyms as it works on the major revamp coming this summer. Some fans might be disappointed to find out that player versus player battles are not among these changes. However, these changes will reach everyone in the following weeks.

Following reports of such activities, Niantic Labs, the developers, have made a decision to shut down the Gym feature temporarily. This change is to help players in rural areas who don't have a lot of landmarks for supplies.

As per Niantic's new bulletin, "Pokemon GO" gyms will be showcasing "six permanent slots" where Pokemon can be designated provided that none of them are the same.

Were you thinking of going to Pokemon GO Fest? To keep the Pokemon motivated, the player should feed it berries. This feature brings out the cooperation efforts from both sides of the team. Additionally, these badges can be leveled up by feeding berries to Pokemon within that gym, through battles, or by simply spinning the gym's photo disc. Niantic told TechCrunch they are considering an "invitational" raid, which is for "dedicated" trainers or high-level players in a region. The player can battle Pokemon based on the order they were added instead of their CP levels. The egg hatches when the countdown ends, revealing a Raid Boss, which is quite impossible to beat on your own given its high combat power. Since there's no sign of a Raid Battle containing multiple creatures, it stands to reason that the long-awaited reveal of legendary Pokemon could be coming with the next update. These additions will hopefully keep them interested, even if, according to some testers, they are chaotic and not very fun. These changes are interesting, especially because players have been complaining about the lack of an endgame for months.
