Putin denies close ties with former national security adviser Flynn

The question, again, provided to take a jab at the U.S.

"That's complete nonsense. Do you even understand what you're asking or not?" he continued. "And we can only get that by talking to those directly involved". Even his astonished comment that Americans have "lost their senses" for thinking Russian Federation might gather compromising information on American businessmen in his country sounded disingenuous.

Putin also said he had only a brief and passing acquaintance with former USA national security adviser Michael Flynn, although the two sat next to each other at a dinner in Moscow in 2015. "Do you think we're gathering compromising information on all of them right now or something?" he asked. Putin attempted to flip the script by accusing the US of meddling in elections around the world.

Flynn has declined to testify to the US Senate Intelligence Committee about his Russian ties, invoking his constitutional right to avoid self-incrimination. It also had included disinformation and dissemination of fake news.

It also claims that people close to then-candidate Trump were in contact with the Russians during the 2016 campaign.

Mr Flynn's ties to Moscow are under scrutiny in the United States amid allegations of possible Russian interference in the 2016 election. Putin, a former KGB spy, said.

He then went on to suggest that perhaps the American intelligence services were behind the hacking and were blaming Russian Federation for an unspecified reason.

President Putin said "no proposal like that came to me" involving Mr. Kushner and that it would have been reported to him if there had been "anything significant".

Putin then appeared to defend President Donald Trump by saying, "You created a sensation out of nothing". In the midst of a political battle, by some calculations it was convenient for them to release this information so they released it, citing Russian Federation.

"I just find it unbelievable how you created a sensation where there wasn't anything at all". "I'm being completely honest with you". "They can be in Russian Federation, in Asia... even in America, Latin America".

According to the American journalist, following her professional encounter with the Russian leader she can describe Putin as a "very gracious" person, at least off camera. "Can you accept that?" And, they aren't analyzing the information in its entirety. "That's why we call them experts".

However, Putin's position on possible interference by his country in the USA election is similar to the way he repeatedly shifted his version of Russia's role in the 2014 annexation of Crimea and in armed rebellions in eastern Ukraine, according to the New York Times.

"Point your finger to any spot on the world's map, everywhere you'll hear complaints that American officials interfere in their political domestic processes".

But when talking with Kelly, Putin seemed to muddy the waters. Her meeting with the Indian Prime Minister landed her in controversy as she had asked him, "Are you on Twitter?".
