15 arrested in MP for celebrating Pakistan's Champions Trophy win

15 arrested in MP for celebrating Pakistan's Champions Trophy win”

Players of Pakistan cricket team returned home, in the wee hours of Tuesday, to a grand welcome, after winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. The way Kashmiris celebrated Pakistan's victory over India in Champions Trophy, not only in cities and towns, but in the remotest hamlets from Kupwara to Kishtwar, it is proven beyond doubt that New Delhi is ruling through the barrel of the gun and has miserably failed to win hearts and minds of even those who had some corner for New Delhi in Kashmir, he said. As per various media reports, Shabir allegedly burst crackers and raised "Pakistan Zindabad" slogans while celebrating Pakistan's triumph in the Champions Trophy final.

This month's Champions Trophy, held intermittently since 1998, was contested between only the top eight sides in the world, while the World Cup is now scheduled to include just 10 teams.

"What we want to do is differentiate our global events from each other so that they can be standalone and create maximum interest every time the event happens", Richardson told reporters via telephone on the eve of the ICC's annual conference in London. Mohammad Amir then reduced India to 33 for three by dismissing all the members of the title-holders' top three, with Rohit Sharma out for a duck and opposing skipper Virat Kohli, the world's leading ODI batsman, falling for just five.

"To be appointed as captain of the Team of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, which includes some of the finest and most attractive cricketers of this generation, is the ideal icing on the cake", Sarfraz said in an International Cricket Council statement.

The former South Africa wicketkeeper also said the World T20 could include up to 20 teams in the future.

"With a 10-team World Cup we're hoping to increase the competitiveness of matches and the standard of the tournament as a whole. It might not be necessary to continue with two 50-over tournaments going forward", he added.
