Diego Costa announces that he is not in Antonio Conte's future plans

Diego Costa announces that he is not in Antonio Conte's future plans”

Diego Costa has raised the possibility of signing for Atletico Madrid and joining another club on loan until their transfer ban ends in January.

The striker revealed to the press last Wednesday that Antonio Conte had texted the 28-year-old to tell him he was not in his plans for the coming season.

Perhaps this is the summer it happens, but that would be very complicated as they can't register any new players until January 2018 due to a Federation Internationale de Football Association transfer ban.

"Signing for Atletico doesn't mean that I wouldn't be playing".

More details of the infamous exchange emerged yesterday from Spain where Costa is on global duty ahead of a World Cup qualifier in Macedona, on Sunday.

Costa scored 20 goals in 35 league appearances in Chelsea's title-winning campaign last season amid local media speculation that he has an unfavourable relationship with the Italian manager. If they want to sell me, they'll have to sell me.

"Everyone knows that I have a lot of affection for them".

"I feel very strongly about Atletico and I will continue to enjoy the club very much whether I go there or anywhere else".

As ways of telling a player that he's no longer wanted at a club, a text message from Antonio Conte was a bit cruel and unnecessary towards Diego Costa.

Costa said: "You need to ask Conte what has happened, he's the coach and if he has the option of signing someone else and doesn't want to have problems with a senior player then that's normal".

"It seems I didn't have a good season". Of course I rule out China, I have to think about the World Cup.

"The important thing is to play. That's it. He informed me that he won't be needed me in the team next season".

He added after Spain's 2-2 draw with Colombia: "It is a shame, I have already forwarded the message to Chelsea people to decide".

"Chelsea are my owners".

He added on rumours of a return to his roots in Brazil at Palmeiras: "To be honest, now, I find it very hard".
