I was given pills and groped, says Cosby accuser Andrea Constand

I was given pills and groped, says Cosby accuser Andrea Constand”

Bill Cosby arrives for his sexual assault trial at the Montgomery County Courthouse.

Agrusa has suggested that Constand once enjoyed a romantic dinner by the fire at Cosby's home before the alleged assault.

William Henry Cosby Jr., as his name appears on charging documents, faces three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault in connection with the alleged sexual assault.

"I wanted it to stop", 44-year-old Constand told the second day of the trial in Norristown, Pennsylvania about the evening in question.

Her mother and a lawyer involved in her related worker's compensation case against William Morris could be the first witnesses Tuesday if the judge permits their testimony.

Constand is among more than 50 women who have accused Cosby of sexual assaults dating to the 1960s, often after plying them with drugs.

Bill Cosby came face-to-face with Andrea Constand, the woman alleging that he sexually assaulted her in 2004, during day two of his sexual assault trial in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

Cosby, 79, has entered a plea of not guilty that he drugged and molested Andrea Constand in 2004 - even though transcripts from a previously private session record Cosby stating that he deliberately gave Constand a powerful sedative with the sole goal of taking sexual advantage of her.

She says she became paralyzed and unable to fend him off.

Not long after she arrived at his home on the night in question in January 2004 to discuss a career crisis, she alleged that he offered her three pills he said were herbal medication, she said Wednesday.

A few months prior to the incident, the defense said, Constand drove four hours to Foxwood resort in order to meet Cosby after one of his performances.

Cosby lawyer Angela Agrusa painted what Constand claimed was innocuous friendship as a romance, seeking to create the impression for the jury that she was therefore a romantic partner, not an unwitting victim, in a later sexual encounter. Constand claims that she replied, "I did not, I just want to know what you gave me", to which Cosby did not give her a clear answer.

The trial, which was expected to last two weeks, continues Wednesday with the end of Constand's cross-examination by Cosby's defense.

Afterward, she said, "I felt really humiliated and I felt really confused".

The defense says the relationship with Constand was consensual.

Constand said her body was limp and she couldn't fight him off.

"I was mistaken", Constand said.

The woman who accused Bill Cosby of sexually assaulting her lied to police and "changed her story" about when exactly the incident happened - in order to match up with phone records, lawyers for the comedian charged Wednesday. Her deposition from that lawsuit remains sealed.

"So you were coming to meet the man who had assaulted you, and you were bringing him bath salts?" asked Agrusa.

"He was a Temple friend, somebody I trusted, a mentor, and somewhat of an older figure to me", she said before the alleged assault.

Sewell said they didn't go to police at the time because her husband, a Los Angeles detective, feared the ordeal that would ensue.

Defence lawyer Brian McMonagle, meanwhile, is a former prosecutor and a more experienced court room performer. Constand is a lesbian, but didn't tell Cosby at the time.

Numbers Game: The defense confronted Constand with her phone records, enlarging them on a screen for the benefit of jurors.

Within 20 to 30 minutes she began to slur her words and had trouble seeing, she testified. Cosby had attended Temple, and Constand had met him when she worked for the women's basketball team.

Regardless, Feden said Constand could not have consented that night given her condition. "This man was a trustee at Temple".
