North Korea denies torturing United States detainee Otto Warmbier

North Korea denies torturing United States detainee Otto Warmbier”

Kim Jong Un, the dictator who inherited rule of North Korea, seems ignorant of the rest of the world and particularly of how North Korea is perceived.

Trump called Warmbier's death a "total disgrace", adding that the college student might have been alive if he had been brought home sooner.

In an article published by the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) Pyongyang said they treated the 22-year-old according to domestic law and global standards.

The North's foreign ministry spokesman put the blame for Warmbier's death on the previous USA administration of Barack Obama which it said had "not even once" made an official request for his release. But Warmbier died soon after his return to OH, and his family and some American officials have blamed North Korea in what the reclusive country has described as a "smear campaign".

Rodong Sinmun claimed Donald Trump was considering a pre-emptive strike on North Korea in order to divert attention from a political crisis in the United States and said the president was in a "tough situation" at home.

The U.S. doctors "examined Warmbier and exchanged medical observations about him with" DPRK doctors, and "recognized that his health indicators like his pulse, temperature, respiration and the examination results of the heart and lung were all normal", said the spokesman.

The service was held at the 22-year-old's school in OH, before his burial at a nearby cemetery.

Warmbier, who was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor in a North Korean labor camp for "hostile acts against the DPRK", was released just over a year into his sentence.

Warmbier's former soccer coach, Steve Thomas, said the young student came from a religious Jewish family and participated in a birthright trip to Israel.

The student's death has heightened tensions aggravated by dozens of North Korean missile launches and two nuclear bomb tests since past year.

"Didn't matter what time of day or what he was doing, he'd drop everything to help his friends", Mr Beerck said. "He was a goofy kid".

'And it wasn't just my life he made more colorful, but everyone else's'.

The service, which lasted a little less than an hour, concluded with Warmbier's casket being carried out as a bag-piper played the spiritual Going Home. "He wasn't big on doing things because he was supposed to do it". The front of the funeral program included a quote from Warmbier's 2013 graduation speech: "This is our season finale".

"[China has a] diplomatic responsibility to exert much greater economic and diplomatic pressure on the regime if they want to prevent further escalation in the region", he said in Washington.
