Player Unknown's Battlegrounds has sold four million copies in just three months

Player Unknown's Battlegrounds has sold four million copies in just three months”

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has become a smash hit on PC, even though the game is only available in early access.

Thirteen weeks. That's the time needed for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds to not only sell 4 million copies worldwide, but generate a staggering $100 million in revenue. Or at least they are in the case of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. With the game mode seeing success, the original Battlegrounds mod creator chose to release his own standalone version of the game- Player Unknown's Battlegrounds.

If you're not sure what PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is, the game is a third-person battle-royale and the victor of the match is the last player, or duo, left standing! A PlayStation 4 version of the game is possible, but there are no details on when that version might release. The game continues its success on Twitch seeing more than 350,000 peak concurrent viewers. As it turns out, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has plenty of new features and game modes on the way, with perhaps the most notable being a PvP Zombie mode that was announced at E3 2017 earlier this month. For example, players can expect climbing, vaulting, and different weather effects to be added in a future update. For Bluehole and Brendan Greene, Early Access is about getting the community involved and using the feedback received to improve the gameplay experience, and it seems to be working wonders. 15% of all Twitch users (more than 120,000 people), watch PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS from the platform every day.

Having released near the end of March, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has become quite the awesome story.
