Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James says emotions 'all over the place' after loss

Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James says emotions 'all over the place' after loss”

By contrast, NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant, who joined the Warriors last July, has a supporting cast that won a record-setting 73 regular season games last season.

On Monday, Golden State used a 27-4 second-quarter run to take charge - just after it appeared Durant should have been called for a third foul on a basket by James - and got to celebrate right at home in Oakland surrounded by a deafening home crowd waving yellow rally towels and holding up phones to shoot video and photos as the final minute of the clock ticked away.

He was vilified in 2010 when he left the Cavaliers to join the Miami Heat where he won two National Basketball Association titles before returning to Cleveland four years later and delivering the city their first National Basketball Association championship in 2016.

Kyrie Irving followed up his 40-point gem in Friday's Game 4 with 26 points but shot 9 for 22. "I thought we played well, got better each game, but against good teams you can't give away games", he said. They also heard a lot of talk about how they were going to lose these finals in four games and that they were done as any real championship contender for the next few years. While fans in the audience chanted "say you're sorry!" at Smith, he conceded and offered a good-hearted "I'm sorry" to Wanda while she smiled and laughed.

"This is the culmination of a year where they grew together and learned each other's games and got better and better all year and it was just phenomenal to be a part of".

For a year, since they lost Game 7 here to the Cavaliers...

Coach Steve Kerr, who only returned to the team in time for game two of the finals after a period of medical leave to deal with complications arising from back surgery, joked afterwards: "We have very little talent actually, it's mostly coaching!"

"I have no reason to put my head down", James said.

"I told him we're tied up now and we're going to try to do this thing again but I'm going to celebrate this one tonight". It was his seventh consecutive trip to the NBA Finals, the only non-Boston Celtic to do so.

"Teams and franchises are going to be trying to figure out ways that they can put personnel together, the right group of guys together to be able to hopefully compete against this team", James said.

"They're going to be here for a while". "I have no reason to put my head down".

LeBron James led the Cavaliers with 41 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists but it proved in vain as the home team came out on top.

Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue said there were tears in the locker room after the final defeat, including his own. "It's tough to get back and get matched, especially with their speed".

"They were aggressive, you have to give them some credit", said Green, who nonetheless still complained that so many Warriors were in early foul trouble that they couldn't be as aggressive as they wanted.

"I credit our guys".
