I'd love to see Ronaldo go to Man United

I'd love to see Ronaldo go to Man United”

The Argentinian, who now plays for Paris Saint-German, is unlikely to spend any time behind bars though - most sentences under two years in Spain are suspended for first-time offenders.

SPANISH PROSECUTORS have had filed a claim against Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho on two counts of tax fraud in 2011 and 2012, when he managed Real Madrid.

Di Maria admitted to two counts of fraud, which hold six-month sentences each, but will not face any jail time.

The Spanish prosecutor says the Real Madrid forward knowingly used a business structure to hide his image rights income in Spain between 2011 and 2014.

Following speculations that Real Madrid's superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will move to Manchester United, the English club's head coach, Jose Mourinho has expressed his interest in the footballer's teammate Alvaro Morata, instead of Ronaldo himself.

Prosecutors claim that the Portuguese manager - who took over at Manchester United past year - failed to declare income of 1.6 million euros in 2011 and 1.7 million euros in 2012.

A statement released by Mr Mendes' company Gestifute last week, countering reports that he was being investigated alongside Monaco FC footballer Colombian Radamel Falcao, said that the Portuguese agent did "not participate or offer any services related directly or indirectly with financial, tax or legal consulting for his clients".

Di Maria's tax charges was as a result of his image rights with Los Blancos in 2012 and 2013.

On Wednesday both the Spanish newspaper ABC and state television TVE claimed Ronaldo had reluctantly agreed to pay the sum he is accused of having failed to declare in order to reduce any subsequent fines and prison sentences. Now, the admission of the two counts of fraud in 2012 and 2013 will see him pay an additional fine of nearly 780,000 euros.
