Three people killed in semi, auto collision”

Three people from Louisville headed to Cedar Point were killed Friday morning in a crash in northern Ohio.

The crash occurred about 7:45 a.m. on USA 6 when a driver attempted to pass traffic near County Road 32, according to the Fremont post of the Ohio Highway Patrol. The truck driver tried to take evasive action to avoid the crash, the patrol said.

Matthew Bramel, 21, Shelby Johnson, 19, and Cody Nelson, 25, were all pronounced dead at the scene.

Three Louisvillians killed in a northern OH crash have been identified.

Police said they see this type of crash on that stretch of road this time of year.

The semi driver has been identified as Christopher Marietta, 39, from Elizabethtown.

Another backseat passenger, a woman from New Albany, was taken to a hospital.

US 6 will be closed between USA 23 and Helena until the investigation is complete and EMA coordinates the cleanup of the diesel fuel spilled at the crash.

The crash is under investigation and speed is considered the main cause. Names of the victims will be released when notification of family is complete.
