Who is the nest Saudi King Muhammad Bin Salman?

Who is the nest Saudi King Muhammad Bin Salman?”

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif congratulated Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud on appointment as the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, here on Thursday.

Mohammed bin Salman replaces his cousin, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, a veteran security chief who led the Saudi campaign against Islamic State and al Qaeda. While the USA president has made statements siding with Saudi Arabia, Washington has shown mounting frustration over the kingdom's role in the crisis.

Hailemariam stated the long standing people-to-people and economic ties between Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia would also be invigorated.

The sudden appointment placed him as first in line to the throne, cementing his position as the driving force behind Saudi Arabia's major policy moves and seemingly charting Saudi policy for the coming decades. Bin Salman has catapulted to power, taking a high-profile role in managing the kingdom and its program to transform the economy, while bin Nayef increasingly fell into a diminished role. "Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS) is its architect", John Sfakianakis, director of the Gulf Research Centre, was quoted as saying by Reuters.

State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said on Tuesday that the U.S. was "mystified" that Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies have failed to present details justifying their embargo on Qatar.

Trump and his team see the prince as serious about pursuing economic and social reforms in Saudi Arabia, though they still aren't sure how far or at what pace he is able to proceed, the second official said.

It is to be recalled that Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia recently concluded the long-awaited labour recruitment agreement.

London- "Fitch" global ratings agency said on Thursday that the decision by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz to name his son, Mohammed Bin Salman, as crown prince, would further boost economic reforms in the Kingdom.

Bernard Haykel, professor of Near Eastern Studies at Princeton, said the king's decision was aimed at avoiding a power struggle between his son and Mohammed bin Nayef by setting the line of succession out clearly.

Unsafe regional conflicts are also a challenge, as Saudi Arabia and Iran compete for dominance in countries like Yemen, Saudi's southern neighbor, which has been devastated by a Saudi-led air campaign to quell an uprising that the Saudis say is backed by Iran.

The new heir to the throne in Saudi Arabia has great ambitions to modernize its economy. The Arab countries accuse Qatar of funding terrorism, fomenting regional instability or cosying up to their enemy Iran.

"The elevation of Mohammed Bin Salman to the Crown Prince will likely mean minimal change to oil production policy but could bring more aggressive foreign policy moves that bring back the political risk premium", said a research note published by RBC Capital Markets.
