Who is Trump friend Christopher Ruddy?

Who is Trump friend Christopher Ruddy?”

Mr Ruddy was at the White House on Monday to meet with White House aides, but did not speak with the president, Press Secretary Sean Spicer said.

"Mr. Ruddy never spoke to the President regarding this issue".

The night before Tuesday's senate intelligence committee hearing with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the sudden question of whether President Donald Trump might fire Federal Bureau of Investigation special counsel Robert Mueller prompted alarm from Democrats and notes of caution from Republicans.

New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, a Democrat, opened her line of questioning, in the hearing that was supposed to focus on the Justice Department budget, by asking whether Rosenstein had seen any evidence of good cause to fire Mueller.

'I think he's considering perhaps terminating the special counsel.

Trump refused to respond to a reporter asking four times Tuesday whether he will fire Mueller, potentially trying to create some suspense.

"I'm not going to follow any orders unless I believe that those are lawful and appropriate orders", Mr. Rosenstein said, adding: "If there were good cause, I would consider".

"I think that he should be more cognizant of making sure that the people who come to work with him are non-partisan, for his own credibility", Bennett said of Mueller.

'Yeah, all I've heard so much are rumors, ' Ryan said during his Capitol Hill presser Tuesday morning. "He had a private conversation with the President on his views about all sorts of matters, potentially about the investigation, I don't know".

A person familiar with Trump's thinking said Tuesday that it is "unlikely" he will fire Mueller, but acknowledged that it is often hard to predict Trump's behavior. Robert Mueller isn't a contestant on The Apprentice.

He told a Senate panel Tuesday that he, and not Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who had the authority to terminate Mueller.

He also declared it a "detestable and appalling lie" to suggest he was aware of or took part in any collusion between Russian Federation and the election campaign that sent Mr Trump to the White House. He said Trump is "actually pretty confident" that "ultimately, he's still going to be president and this stuff is all going to go away".

"I think we should let Bob Mueller do his work and get to the bottom of it, and get to the bottom of it quickly so that he can be vindicated, get to these things".

Rosenstein offered his assurances as US news accounts quoted Republican allies of Trump suggesting that the president is considering firing Mueller, whose appointment last month drew widespread praise from both Republicans and opposition Democrats.

White House staffers made a concerted effort to talk Trump down from ordering that Mueller be fired, the paper said.

"Look, the president of the United States, as we all know, is a unitary executive".

It was no t clear whether Mr Ruddy, who speaks with the president often, was basing his remarks on a specific conversation with the president or entirely on Mr Sekulow's comments. Ruddy's remarks came on the heels of Trump loyalists growing louder with their calls that Mueller should be removed from heading up the Russian Federation probe.
