The Boston Celtics made the trade of the No.1 overall pick to the Philadelphia 76er's official on Monday.

The Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers have officially completed a blockbuster trade that sends the No. 1 overall pick in this week's National Basketball Association draft from Boston to Philadelphia.

"No I didn't. I'm just happy I get a chance to play basketball".

With this new deal in mind, the Sixers will probably take Markelle Fultz, the dynamic guard out of Washington University.

If it turns out to be the case, then once again Ainge will have proven his prowess as a GM, securing the player he really coveted at #3, and still securing a first round pick in next year's NBA Draft. "It's a good deal for both teams".

The player I would take with No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft is...

"We are very pleased with the outcome of this trade, which puts us in the enviable position of selecting first overall in consecutive draft years", Colangelo said.

"I try not to think about it too much", Markkanen said.

The, literal, million dollar question is: Who will ultimately go at No. 1?

The Celtics reportedly have been very high on Jackson despite his off-court issues, although they're rumored to be leaning toward taking Duke's Jayson Tatum at No. 3. "I mean, you can get traded in the blink of an eye, without knowing", Fultz said. So, I'd say that if history is to repeat itself the Celtics are in pretty good shape.

Jackson said he has spoken with Stevens and some assistant coaches on the phone, but, "Danny Ainge himself, I have not spoken with him".

So the way he looks at it, the deal is a win-win. In all, the Celtics could possibly own draft rights to seven first-round choices over the next three seasons.

"We feel like it's a jump-start for us", Ainge said. We watched the same Finals that everybody did.

"I think the Jimmy Butler stuff is real", Aldridge told NBATV's GameTime.

"We felt that the value of adding the one pick now was the right thing at the expense of only losing one of four (in 2018 and '19) going forward", he said.

It will mark the second straight year that Philadelphia selects first overall. It was agreed to in principle at that point, with the last holdup being the customary league approval on the terms - which came Monday. If the Lakers hold a pick between No. 2 and No. 5 next season, Boston now gets that one as well.

INTERNATIONAL INTRIGUE: A year after almost half the draft - a record 27 of the 60 picks - were international players, French guard Frank Ntilikina and Finnish forward Lauri Markkanen, who played a year at Arizona, are two of the top international players. "But we're not afraid of that".

Fultz, the versatile Washington guard who worked out for the Sixers on Saturday evening, is the consensus top player and clearly the best fit in Brett Brown's system.

Ball is one of the best true point guards to come out of college in years, leading college basketball with 7.6 assists per game last season.
