CBO Set to Release Analysis of Senate Healthcare Bill Monday

Five Republican senators are opposed to the new health care bill as written, demanding changes to the legislation before they can support it: Sen.

Further, this legislative scheme that will take away health care for millions of Americans is being supported by a bunch of Senate Republicans whose health care coverage is guaranteed by the taxpayer.

Sandoval, a Republican who accepted Obamacare's Medicaid expansion in his state, said about 210,000 Nevadans gained health coverage under the law.

Ron Johnson is one of the five GOP senators who have publicly declared they won't vote for the American Health Care Act as it's now written.

The bill passed the House in May and until 22 June the Senate draft was kept secret from all but a few select Republican Senators by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

The Senate bill would also erase the tax penalties Obama's 2010 law imposes on people who don't purchase insurance.

Yet the measure will live or die in the Senate on Republican support.

As lawmakers made speeches about the legislation on the Senate floor, a protest erupted outside McConnell's personal office, with many people in wheelchairs blocking a hallway, holding signs and chanting: "No cuts to Medicaid". "It's going to be very hard to get me to 'yes, '" said Heller, viewed as the Senate Republican most at risk in the 2018 midterm election. The subsidies will be linked to recipients' income in the Senate bill, a "major improvement" from a measure approved last month by the House that tied them exclusively to age, Republican Senator Susan Collins said.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell insists he wants a vote before the Fourth of July recess, leaving GOP leaders one week to win over more votes.

"Without insurance I don't know what I'm going to do".

"The draft bill unveiled in the senate strikes me as an important and constructive first step in repealing obamacare and replacing it with a better, stable, consumer-driven health care system for all Pennsylvanians". They oppose the bill, but only on paper. "The only people who are better off under their bill are millionaires and health insurance companies".

He called the Senate's bill "not a health care bill" but a "massive transfer of wealth from middle-class and poor families to the richest people in America".

Trump's role is expected to become more pronounced in coming days as the vote nears.

Something is there they don't want to make public. Both our senators are included in the elite 13 GOP senators working in complete secrecy to produce this bill.

Republican Senator John McCain said he would check with his constituents in his home state of Arizona. Even President Trump reportedly called a different version of the bill mean.

The KFF poll notes that "proposed Medicaid changes were not initially a major point of discussion surrounding consideration of the House bill... which may partly explain why many respondents were unaware of its effect". Iowa opted to expand, and has added more than 150,000 people to its rolls since 2014.

"The current bill does not repeal Obamacare", Paul said. He said Democrats "are doing everything we can to fight this bill because it's so devastating for the middle class".
