Cristiano Ronaldo already wavering in desire to quit Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo already wavering in desire to quit Real Madrid”

Angel Di Maria agreed to a deal with Spain's state prosecutor on Wednesday in which the former Real Madrid forward admitted to two counts of tax fraud of nearly 1.3 million euros ($1.4 million) in exchange for a lighter sentence.

Spanish prosecutors have alleged that Ronaldo has avoided paying €14.8m (£12.9m) in taxes relating to image rights.

Di Maria is, like Ronaldo and Mourinho, a client of the Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes, who himself has been summoned to appear before the court at Pozuelo de Alarcon, just outside Madrid, on June 27.

"The corporate structure was used by the accused in order to make the benefits derived from image rights opaque", the prosecutor said in a statement.

Perez also declared that the situation will be fully dealt with once Ronaldo returns from the Confederations Cup, while recent rumours claim that Ronaldo is now more settled following Perez's public backing.

"Ronaldo is a Real player and will continue to be so as far as we are concerned", Perez told Marca sports daily yesterday.

"I'm sure that Cristiano meets all his tax requirements, it must be a confusion that will be cleared up".

Perez also confirmed that the 32-year-old has a release clause of £1billion.

Ronaldo is a Real player and will continue to be so as far as we are concerned. something really weird would have to happen if he were to leave this club.

Real Madrid's key footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to appear before a judge on July 31, following accusations of tax fraud by the Spanish authorities.

Ronaldo has denied any wrongdoing, and Madrid issued a statement last week saying it believed the player was innocent. "No offer has been received for him".

Perez, a 70-year-old construction magnate said to be close to Ronaldo, was elected unopposed on Monday for a third term in charge of Europe's most successful club.

He continued: "A lot of things would have to happen for him to leave".
