Instagram Model Killed In Freak Whipped Cream Canister Explosion”

Rebecca Burger, a French lifestyle blogger, athlete, and fitness model, died of a heart attack Wednesday following a freak accident involving an exploding whipped cream dispenser at her home in eastern France.

Written in French, the post said that a "chantilly siphon exploded and struck Rebecca's thorax, resulting in her death".

In a statement, Ard'Time - which sells the whipped cream canisters - said it "deplored" Burger's death, and listed steps previously taken by the company to recall and destroy products reported as defective.

"Don't use this type of utensil at home", the post warns.

According to French media, Burger died after suffering cardiac arrest after being struck in the chest by a projectile launched from a faulty cream dispenser. She uploaded her first YouTube video on June 10 showing her on a trip in Bali.

Burger was known for a fitness blog titled "Rebecca Likes", where she documented her travels and outfits.

Burger had more than 56,000 Facebook and 158,000 Instagram followers. However, the magazine said new dispensers made since 2015 seemed to be safe.

The dispensers are highly pressurized and work by injecting nitrous oxide into the metal container. "Rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with her family friends and fans", a follower wrote.

In 2013, one victim of an exploding cream dispenser told RTL radio: " I had six broken ribs, and my sternum was broken.

The magazine 60 Million Consumers reported that incidents such as these have been occurring since at least 2010, saying they have reported 60 accidents related to high-pressure canisters like the one that led to Burger's death. The post also warned people of "defective" products.

Burger's Instagram attracted much attention, with many of her posts on health, wellbeing and fitness receiving thousands of likes and comments.
