Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo exit: Man Utd move questioned by Craig Burley

Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo exit: Man Utd move questioned by Craig Burley”

Jose Mourinho is being accused of double counts of tax fraud involving 1.6 million pounds in 2011 nd 1.7 million pounds in 2012 and the case has been presented in a local court in Spain.

Argentina and Paris Saint-Germain star Angel di Maria has been handed a hefty fine and a prison sentence over a charge of tax fraud of 1.3 million euros ($1.4 million), Spanish authorities announced on Wednesday.

There have also been suggestions Pepe has been advising his club and worldwide colleague, urging him to leave Madrid for a new challenge, with Paris Saint-Germain and Ronaldo's former club Manchester United thought to be interested. He then moved to PSG in 2015. "Up to this point, neither Hacienda [the tax office] nor the prosecutors have contacted Jose Mourinho or the advisers who were under contract during the [tax] inspection process", Gestifute said in a statement.

A statement from the Attorney General's Office confirmed to Press Association Sport that the Madrid Prosecutor's Office had lodged the papers, relating to 2011 and 2012, with the municipal court.

Despite an initial lack of public support from Real Madrid President Florentino Perez, Cristiano Ronaldo has received support over his recent tax allegations from an unlikely source in Barcelona's Neymar, according to Spanish publication Diario Gol.

Other clients of Mendes who have ended up in Spain include the Portuguese full-back Fabio Coentrao - on the verge of joining Sporting Lisbon on loan from Real Madrid - and Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, now with Monaco but formerly at Atletico Madrid.

The 29-year-old and his father Jorge Horacio Messi were found guilty of using offshore companies to avoid paying taxes on € 4.16 million of Messi's income earned from his image rights from 2007 to 2009. Now, the admission of the two counts of fraud in 2012 and 2013 will see him pay an additional fine of nearly 780,000 euros.
