Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to meet today for sighting of Shawwal moon

Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to meet today for sighting of Shawwal moon”

"Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow as the Eid moon was sighted in Bihar, West Bengal, Assam and Uttar Pradesh today", Bukhari added.

"They and their adhering communities have commenced fasting Ramadan on the basis of moonsighting".

Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman made the formal announcement at a press conference in Islamabad.

The zonal committee's moon-sighting meetings will also be held in Sindh, Balochistan, Peshawar and Punjab.

The federal government too had already announced Eid holidays from Monday, June 26 to Wednesday, June 28.

The split between technologists and traditionalists - when, exactly, do you end a month long fast? - is amicable but complicates weekend plans for prayers, feasts, gifts, carnival rides, a petting zoo and even a mechanical bull.

Sunday is the first day of Eid ul Fitr as the crescent of Shawwal has been sighted in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, as per Arab media. The moon according to Met office will be born at 7:31pm today (Saturday) and would be seen on Sunday in clear weather. Hence today is 30th Ramadan in Oman and Eid celebration will begin from Monday. The decision was taken after the new moon was sighted Saturday.

The clerics told they received as many as 56 testimonies of sighting the moon from all over the province. The United States, United Kingdom and most parts of Europe will celebrate Eid on Sunday.
