Two men beaten in robbery, one in critical condition

Two men beaten in robbery, one in critical condition”

At a press conference this morning, NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison said the tourists were heading back to their hotel when a group of men attacked them from behind.

Surveillance video shows the victims were attacked by at least four black males who beat them, stole their wallets and cell phones, and then fled.

One of victims is seen being punched by one of the assailants from behind, which knocks him out cold.

"One of the victims was listed in critical condition and the other victim was listed in stable condition".

"I believe those conditions are probably the same right now", Harrison said.

The first victim eventually finds his glasses on the sidewalk and crawls to the second victim and appears to try to talk to him as two other people walk up to the men to offer assistance, with one taking out his cellphone, apparently to call 911.

"Because the person has an injury as a result, and it's a pretty substantial injury", Harrison said of the increase in charges.

New Orleans Police are asking for help finding the suspects seen in the graphic video below.

"These people committed this crime out of the eyes of the police", Harrison said.

Sunday night, police released surveillance footage showing the crime.

Harrison described the assault as a "vicious attack" which was caught on multiple cameras in the area. "We're coming for you, and we're going to make you pay and hold you accountable for what you did".
