Chelsea Reportedly Ready to Pay Club-Record £60M for Alex Sandro Transfer

Chelsea Reportedly Ready to Pay Club-Record £60M for Alex Sandro Transfer”

Should Chelsea complete a £60m deal for Sandro, then it will eclipse the £50m they paid for Fernando Torres in 2011, although Chelsea are aiming to break their transfer record twice this summer.

Chelsea are hopeful that will be enough to secure Sandro's signature, but they are still waiting to hear whether or not the player will tell Juventus that he wants to move to England.

There have been suggestions in Italy and Spain that Chelsea are looking at Danilo as well to improve competition for Victor Moses at right wing back.

Earlier, Calciomercato reported that Chelsea had agreed personal terms with Sandro with an offer of € 7-million-a-year salary, beating Juventus' deal worth between €4.5 and € 5 million-a-year.

Coach Antonio Conte is expected to report to the club's training ground at the weekend, while the players return for pre-season training on Monday.

Chelsea have not hidden their intention of ading quality to their ranks and Sandro has been earmarked by Chelsea chiefs to be part of their squad ahead of next season.

The Blues missed out on the chance to win the double in their first season under Conte after a 2-1 loss to bitter rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup final.

It will now come down to what the player decides to do.

Chelsea's only senior signing so far this summer has been that of goalkeeper Willy Caballero, who joined on a free transfer after his contract at Manchester City expired.
