China, US to join forces on economy

China, US to join forces on economy”

President Donald Trump says he told the Chinese president that "something has to be done" about North Korea.

Mr Trump lately expressed impatience over China's role in North Korea, particularly after Pyongyang launched an intercontinental ballistic missile last week that some experts believe could reach Alaska and parts of the US West Coast. Just hours earlier, the White House called Prime Minister Abe the President of Japan.

Considering the fact that the military moves at stopping North Korea's nuclear drive, threaten a awful confrontation that could kill millions of people on the Korean Peninsula and beyond, President Trump has few options available on the table, but to demand a diplomatic outcome to the standoff with the isolated state.

It is a journey that is now estimated by Trump's ability to challenge North Korea's actions not only through worldwide criticism but to promote the #United States' efforts to change the strategic plans in Pyongyang.

BEIJING (AP) - The United States has apologized for mistakenly describing Chinese President Xi Jinping as the leader of Taiwan, China said Monday.

Xi said during the meeting that "sensitive issues remain" in the China-US relationship and more work needed to be done.

Teng Jianqun, director of the Department for American Studies at the China Institute of International Studies, said the personal ties between Xi and Trump are adding to people's hope for upcoming meetings, including Trump's state visit to China later this year.

On non-military issues, Xi said a 100-day action plan put into place after his April summit at Trump's Mar-a-logo estate in Florida is bearing fruit and a further year-long plan is being considered, Xinhua reported.

The response ran counter to China's repeated calls for North Korea's to stop its missile and nuclear tests in exchange for the US and South Korea halting the joint military drills that antagonize the Kim regime.

World leaders at the summit increased pressure on Mr Trump to compromise on climate and trade.

Trump also had a brief, unscheduled meeting with Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about the situation in Syria.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his British counterpart, Theresa May, agreed Saturday that their countries will work closely for an early adoption of a new U.N. Security Council resolution on North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.

Abe said that the security environment in the Asia-Pacific region, including North Korea, has become "increasingly severe", and he wants to demonstrate the robust partnership and the bond between the two countries.

In 2016, 26 nations, including China, took part in the exercise off Hawaii. The administration wants China to fully enforce worldwide sanctions meant to starve Pyongyang of revenue for its nuclear and missile programs.
