PPP's Ghani wins PS-114 by-election”

According to unconfirmed and unofficial results, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Saeed Ghani has won the elections with 23840 votes.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's Ali Akbar Gujjar stood third in the run with 5,353 votes to his credit, while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Najeeb Haroon bagged 5,098 votes. While talking to media, the RO said that voting was underway in all the polling stations and has not been halted in any of them.

According to details, the women present at the polling station at the time tried to stop the Rangers from arresting the man who was trying to cast fake vote at a polling station in Chanessor Goth.

The seat had been won by the MQM in 1990, 1993 and 2008 elections.

Presiding Officers have released unofficial results of all the polling stations of the PS-114 constituency.

Earlier during the day, clashes erupted outside different polling stations in Karachi including Chanesar Goth. He confirmed that clashes occurred outside the polling booths but the voting process was not affected. I was refused to enter the polling station despite of having an ECP letter, said Ghani adding that state institutions should make election peacefully instead of creating hurdles in the polling process.

Strict security arrangement has been made on the occasion as 2,000 Rangers personnel and 1,250 policemen were deployed outside and inside the polling stations whereas they also patrolled the area. The people those were narrating the stories about the closing stages of MQM-P were living in fool paradise.
