Suspect arrested in UK 'Islamophobic' acid attack”

A man named as the chief suspect in an acid attack in east London has handed himself in to police.

Tomlin entered an east London police station on Sunday and remains in custody, London daily quoted Scotland Yard as saying.

It comes after Resham Khan, 21, and her cousin Jameel Muhktar, 37, were allegedly doused in acid while sitting in their auto in Beckton, east London, on June 21.

Police appealed for information about Tomlin's whereabouts following the June 21 "Islamophobic" attack in which "both victims received life-changing injuries".

The attacker then threw more of the acid at Mr Mukhtar before fleeing the scene.

Writing on Twitter, she said: "I saw my clothes burn away in front of me". "My cousin struggled to get us away". We did this for 45 minutes. She had not seen her cousin in two years.

Resham Khan, a Business Management student, had just spent nine months studying in Cyprus and was preparing to enter the workplace.

Jameel was put in an induced coma and had an operation.

"I was watching her burning".

A friend has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the cost of treatment.
