Heidi McKinney sentenced to house arrest for groping teen girl on plane”

An Oregon woman who licked, groped and verbally harassed a female passenger during a flight from Las Vegas to Portland was sentenced Monday to eight months of home detention.

An Oregon woman was sentenced to house arrest Monday after she pleaded guilty to molesting a female passenger on an Alaskan Airlines flight previous year.

In March, McKinney pleaded guilty to assault with the intent to commit a felony and was sentenced on Monday at a federal court in Oregon.

The incident happened last May on board an Alaska Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Portland.

McKinney tried to force the teenager to drink alcohol she had smuggled on board and touched her breasts several times, leaving her hands to "linger" on the woman's chest. She pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge in Portland, Ore., Friday, March 24, 2017.

The assistant United States attorney said McKinney had acted with "intent to humiliate and harass the victim".

McKinney's lawyer asked that her client be allowed to leave her home to attend school, church and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and to look for employment. She also put her arm around the woman, and took photos of her.

According to KOIN-TV, court documents reveal that shortly after taking a plea deal in March, McKinney was found intoxicated and unconscious at a local bar.

McKinney made unrequited small talk, asking personal questions, disrespecting how much wealth the victim seemed to have, and bragging about her own wealth.

When the plane was mid-flight, McKinney pressured the victim to drink booze that she had smuggled onto the plane before she threw the bottle into the victim's lap. The 27-year-old eventually completed an inpatient treatment program in June. Sinha said McKinney, who appeared to have been drinking, tried to speak with the young woman, but the victim was reluctant.

The victim sat in the front row of the courtroom gallery but was too emotional to read her prepared statements in court. Instead, her grandmother walked up and gave the remarks. 'That day you messed with my head and took something from me that I will never get back'.

The victim said that she forgave McKinney because she felt she needed to move on with her life and hope McKinney would get the help she needs, according to the Oregonian.
