Boxer and Model Lauryn Eagle's New Blow

Boxer and Model Lauryn Eagle's New Blow”

Sydney boxer and model Lauryn Eagle has found herself on the wrong side of the law, accused of drug driving.

Eagle was pulled over in a black Audi Q5 for a random drug and alcohol test just before 10am on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old was prohibited from driving for 24 hours.

But when she was asked to do a random drug test she allegedly returned a positive result for methamphetamine.

Eagle's lawyer, Adam Houda, told The Daily Telegraph suggestions the boxer had taken illicit drugs were "cruel and unfair".

"The allegation of my being on illicit drugs in heartbreaking", she told Nine Network on Friday from the U.S. following the test on Wednesday.

Speaking from Hollywood, a visibly upset Eagle was on the brink of tears as she told Today the positive result was caused by various prescription medications.

It is understood Eagle is being treated for a sleeping disorder.

Eagle said she takes the drug modafinil - a drug that promotes wakefulness - for treatment of her narcolepsy and medication for her ADHD.

She has not been charged while police wait for the results of the second test, which the spokeswoman said could "take some weeks".

Later that year she was charged with two counts of assault and one count of malicious damage after an dispute over a dog at the family home.
