UT stabbing suspect indicted for murder, new charges

The Travis County District Attorney's office confirmed to KVUE that Kendrex White was indicted by a grand jury.

The indictments come a month after White was ruled competent enough to stand trial.

White, 21, is now charged with three counts of aggravated assault for injuring three students when he allegedly went on a stabbing spree on campus on May 1.

A grand jury concluded there is sufficient evidence to proceed in the case.

Police rushed to the 2100 block of Speedway near UT's Gregory Gym just before 1:50 p.m. the day of the stabbing.

On May 17 White appeared in court for the first time.

The man accused of stabbing four people on the University of Texas campus has been indicted on a murder charge, CBS Austin reports. In the weeks between the DWI and the stabbing attack, White's parents said they took him to an emergency room in their hometown of Killeen, which prompted an involuntarily commitment at a psychiatric hospital. "She said, 'Are you Harrison's mom?' and you could tell there was something bad going on at the other end", Lori Brown said in an interview with KXAN's Alyssa Goard.

White's next hearing will be on Friday.
