Nintendo files trademark for N64 controller

Nintendo has recently filed a trademark application for the Nintendo 64 controller in Europe, which given the timing might well indicate that a Nintendo 64 Classic Mini could be in the works for next year. These trademarks were spotted by a NeoGAF user who compiled a list with all of the trademarks.

The trademark for the Super Famicon controller surfaced around six months prior to the announcement, which means if Nintendo decides to go through with the N64 Classic, we will probably have to wait a few months before the bad boy gets released.

The trademark, filed two days ago, is classified under goods and services, including a section that encompasses video game controllers, apparatuses, joysticks, and parts and accessories.

If the N64 Classic is revealed, what games do you want on it? Nintendo filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office four figurative trademark applications.

The SNES Classic Edition was announced by Nintendo last month after much speculation and will come with 21 games.
