Destiny 2 Survival Mode Features Limited Respawns, Like Trials Of Osiris-Lite

We get a look at Destiny 2's new Survival PVP mode, a new addition to the Crucible, via IGN. This is the second team-based mode to be revealed for Destiny 2, the first being Countdown. Check it out below.

With Survival mode, there's only a certain number of lives the team can use from a shared pool, and it features permanent death. As they are killed, they will automatically respawn, until their lives are depleted. Supers seem to carry over between rounds as opposed to resetting each time and there's a very Trials of Osiris-like atmosphere to it all.

Some fans were disappointed in the changes in Destiny 2's PVP balance, but we're excited to see how players strategize in these new modes. It will be available in Destiny 2's Competitive playlist, Bakken said. It is a "huge point of contention", according to Bakken, and will force a fight between players vying to get their hands on it first.

In each match, only one power ammo box spawns, and it does so at the centre of the map, drawing the teams together.

Survival is the latest example of Bungie's attempt to make Crucible more competitive, inluding the limitation to four-on-four in all modes, adding universal cooldowns to grenades and melees, and making the game feel slower overall.
