Female physics teacher banned after mile-high sex with student”

On the flight home the pair flirted at the back of the plane while looking after another pupil who was unwell.

The boy - who had drunk five mini bottles of wine - joined her in the loos for sex and oral intercourse without protection, it was heard.

She was found guilty of unacceptable professional conduct and conduct that may bring the profession into disrepute by a National College for Teaching and Leadership panel who found she had also tried to cover up the relationship.

In their recommendation to the Education Secretary, the panel said: "The panel has found that Miss Wilson engaged in sexual activity with Pupil A on one occasion, including oral sex and sexual intercourse".

She told a school newsletter the trip to Switzerland's Large Hadron Collider "will provide a real source of inspiration" for pupils.

The academy teacher from South Gloucestershire continued their relationship, texting and meeting up for drinks despite gossip at the school in Bristol.

The boy claimed to know about the sexual relationship between Pupil A and Wilson and promised to inform the school unless she "engaged in sexual conduct" with him, it was revealed.

The NCTL heard that Wilson had a previously good history and the school had received "unprompted e-mails and calls" from parents praising her.

The teacher, who had denied the allegations, was sacked by the school previous year and was not present at the NCTL hearing.

But following the two-day hearing, she was found guilty of all but two of the allegations against her.

The NCTL said in a report of the panel's hearing: "The conduct of Wilson fell significantly short of the standards expected of the profession".

Striking Miss Wilson off from the profession, she added: 'These behaviours include serious dishonesty and serious sexual misconduct.

In September 2015, allegations of the affair came to light and the head teacher launched an investigation, but Wilson denied this allegation in its entirety and no further action was taken due to a lack of corroborating evidence.

Giving evidence, the unnamed pupil told the hearing the Miss Wilson was intoxicated during the encounter and admitted drinking five miniature bottles of wine himself on the flight.

It was on a school trip in the summer of 2015 that Wilson and the pupil (referred to as pupil A) first became close.

"The panel did not consider that Miss Wilson demonstrated insight into the consequences of her actions".
