Nitish Kumar to take oath as Bihar CM at 10 am

Lalu further accused Nitish to have been hand-in-glove with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He berried his Prime ministerial ambition and made a decision to be in NDA's camp so that he could remain in power for at least a few more years. In April past year, he became the national president of his party, the Janata Dal (United).

Sources said that Governor has asked the RJD leaders to meet him at 11 a.m. on Thursday.

The secular tradition thus had passed on to these regional satraps from the Congress and with the BJP still not a force as it is today, they laid the foundation of the bits-and-pieces politics in the country. "I even spoke to Rahul Gandhi about it".

Had the opposition in the eastern Indian state remained united, it would have been tough for the BJP to garner 30 out of 40 parliamentary seats in the state as it did in 2014.

The ostensible reason for Kumar to quit was his falling out with Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, the son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad.

Nitish must have realised that the so-called united opposition is not going to succeed in the 2019 general election due to lack of credible leadership.

Tyagi said, "The Congress was neither serious about fighting corruption nor about any opposition bloc". That is why Nitish was constantly under pressure from the Lalu and his dynasty. We knew this was going on for the last three-four months.

Despite being strong on votes, The Wirehad said that Lalu and Nitish's alliance was a marriage of convenience between two men who had been adversaries for two decades.

The reason why the Mahagatbandhan was unsustainable was Yadav's ambitions. We want that the MLAs who have come to power have completed the five-year term. "We will keep our point of view and take the matter to the court", Singh told ANI. "He can't ignore single largest party and largest pre-poll alliance", Tejashwi said. Tejashwi was doing well in building a public profile of his own. Why would Kumar be CM again in 2020?

KC Tyagi told India Today, "Two top leaders of RJD met with two cabinet ministers in the Union government a month ago and had offered to topple Nitish government in lieu of soft peddling of cases against Lalu Yadav and his family members".

The Chief Minister rejected calls to reconsider his decision.

The only condition in which Kumar would be happy to vacate it would be if he was getting a national role. They may find common ground - such as in their anti-Congressism - but on all other matters, economic and social, they would be at loggerheads. Yadav is facing corruption charges but had refused to step down despite Kumar's exhortations.

The RJD's participation in the coalition signalled at how intent Mr Kumar was on keeping the BJP out of power. He only wanted the Yadavs to be able to publicly distance themselves from corruption allegations.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will prove majority in the Bihar Assembly tomorrow. "We have also support of some JD-U MLAs who won elections against BJP", Tejashwi Yadav tweeted.

Kumar's evidently planned operation to check-mate Yadav was a political necessity. It was also seen as a partial defeat for Nitish.
