Bihar government Cabinet reshuffle on Saturday

Bihar government Cabinet reshuffle on Saturday”

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday took a jibe at the recent political development in Bihar and said people are watching the political corruption of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Choubey further questioned, how could a simple man become owner of thousands of crores of rupees. "The entire action (of seeking his resignation) was just an excuse so he could go with BJP", Yadav, who along with his father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad, and mother Rabri Devi have been made an accused in the hotels-for-land scandal case, had said.

Trying to debunk the ongoing whisper campaign that Lalu Prasad Yadav's "putra moh" (love for his son) caused the collapse of the Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar, Tejaswi Yadav said that it was not "putra moh" but "bhai moh" (love for his brother) that led to the fall of the government. How he had overrode many democratic reforms, not only in Bihar but also in the Central Government.

The Nitish Kumar-led NDA government on Friday secured 131 votes against the opposition's 108 during the floor test in the Bihar Assembly. "Have they resigned?" Nirupam told ANI. Around 34 members of the Bihar legislative assembly, including 19 from Janata Dal (United), will take oath as ministers, according to reports.

The RJD leader said Nitish has made a huge blunder by joining hands with BJP, likening the saffron party to a huge alligator gulping down its prey.

Meanwhile, BJP ally Hindustani Awam Morcha's (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi, the only legislator from his party, announced that he will not join the cabinet.

BJP state president Nityanand Rai told a TV channel that the new cabinet would have 19 members Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) and nine from the BJP, among others, reports Hindustan Times.

On Thursday, Nitish and BJP leader Sushil Modi were sworn-in as Bihar Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively, and former has been asked to prove his majority on the floor by Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi.
