Teenager killed, 4 others seriously injured in CT crash

Police said a 17-year-old boy was killed and four other teenagers were injured in a crash that occurred here shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Saturday.

When they arrived, police say they found a 2006 Chevy Cobalt with heavy damage at the Town Hill Road-Cross Road intersection.

Officers were called to Town Hill Road at about 12:23 a.m., by a resident who reported hearing a loud vehicle crash, according to a news release.

Multiple ambulances and LifeStar took 5 patients to area hospitals to treat their serious injuries.

Three other people who were in the vehicle fled the scene, and were later found by police with minor injuries.

The victim who died was not identified, but police said he was 17.

The two teens called a relative to pick them up, who then called police and brought them to the police station, according to officials.

The Connecticut State Police reconstruction team is assisting with the investigation.
