Singapore condemns North Korea's latest ballistic missile test”

Meanwhile, reaction was also swift in South Korea, which said it would consider placing additional launchers of an advanced US Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) anti-missile system on its soil.

The exercises involved two USA bombers along with Japan's Mitsubishi F-2 fighters, Defence Minister Fumio Kishida said at a press conference.

"North Korea remains the most urgent threat to regional stability", Gen. Terrence J.

The U.S. Air Force flew two B-1B bombers over the Korean Peninsula Saturday, accompanied by South Korean and Japanese jet fighters.

Russian Federation disagreed with the assessment that North Korea launched an ICBM, saying they believed the test was of a medium range ballistic missile.

The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Friday condemned the launch of another "ballistic missile of possible intercontinental range" by North Korea.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced Saturday that the country's second flight test of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) was an evidence they could hit the USA mainland.

The South's president is now considering extra unilateral sanctions on top of existing punitive measures, according to a spokesman at a briefing.

Following Friday's launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile that landed west of Japan, the USA president singled out China for blame on Saturday evening, saying the country could "easily solve this problem".

Mr. Kim said the test "is meant to send a grave warning to the U.S." and demonstrated the North's ability to launch "at any place and time", the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said. It also noted that, compared to the previous launch conducted on July 4, the flight altitude grew almost 1,000 kilometers, and the time it spent in the air grew by 5 minutes.

Trump said the weapons and tests "further isolate North Korea, weaken its economy, and deprive its people".

That would leave North Korea only the technical challenge of miniaturizing a nuclear warhead that could withstand reentry in order to back leader Kim Jong Un's incessant nuclear threats against the US. Our foolish past leaders have allowed them to make hundreds of billions of dollars a year in trade, yet ... they do NOTHING for us with North Korea, just talk.

In total, the North has been slapped with six sets of United Nations sanctions since it first tested a nuclear weapon in 2006.
