PDP Southwest Leaders Demand Disciplinary Action Against Senator Buruji Kashamu”

The party in the communiqué issued at the end of its meeting held in Ibadan and read by the zonal chairman of the party, Dr. Eddy Olafeso said the anti-party activities of some of the PDP members led to loss of elections in Ondo, Ogun and Edo states.

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West geo-political region of Nigeria have called for sanctions on Sen.

"The entire Southwest leadership and stakeholders condemn the destabilising and anti-party activities of Senator Buruji Kashamu and demand disciplinary actions against him for his roles in the loss of the party in Ogun, Ondo and Edo states".

In a statement obtained by from Kashamu's official site, he said the meeting was held under the guidance of some impostors parading themselves as the South West Zonal Executives of our party.

Ogundipe, while also noting with concern the attempt by some persons in the zone, who he said had continued to fan the embers of discord within the fold, said the PDP leadership under him had resolved to declare the Ekiti governor, Mr. Fayose a persona non-grata, adding that the zone also had dissociated itself from his activities.

Responding to reporters' questions, Ogundipe said the relationship between his executive and the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led Caretaker Committee "is very cordial".

"If we are talking of more members, should we be looking at how members should be expelled?"

Also speaking, Prof. Oladipo equally lauded Senator Makarfi's style of leadership, saying the PDP chairman had been able to steer the ship of the party well since the Supreme Court gave its verdict.

The PDP boss enjoined that henceforth the national leadership of the party should desist from relating with the Ekiti governor as regards matters affecting the zone.

"There is no faction in the PDP. We are not taking over a garage because we not garage boys, we are going to compete fairly". PDP house is intact. We have told our leaders to choose between the monster or us.

He hailed Makarfi for his maturity and candour in the handling the party since the July 12 judgment of the Supreme Court, especially his "no victor, no vanquished" mantra.

Fayose said Senator Kashamu connived with others in the Alli Modu Sheriff faction to destabilise the party for nearly two years, Punch reports. The authentic zonal leadership and stakeholders hereby rejected Fayose's leadership.

He said, "The PDP house will not be rebuilt with termites infested woods". Ahmed Makarfi as the National Chairman of the party, was a victory for Nigerians as a whole.

He said: "Governor Fayose will not waste his time on people whose faces are abhorred in the gathering of people of good conscience".
