DMX Reportedly Violated Bail; Could Face Jail Time”

E! News reports that DMX (real name Earl Simmons) is now under house arrest.

A federal judge in New York has ordered rapper DMX be outfitted with an electronic monitoring bracelet and confined to his suburban New York City home after violating bail conditions.

TMZ reported that X "dodged a bullet" after he not only showed up to a court hearing 30 minutes late, but he also failed four drug tests for marijuana and cocaine.

DMX is on house arrest.

DMX could be headed back to jail less than a month after pleading not guilty to cheating the IRS out of $1.7 million in taxes. DMX explained he'd flown to St. Louis to deal with family matters. He has also been ordered to wear an ankle monitor and can not even step outside to mow the lawn, according to the report. They say he moved hundreds of thousands of dollars in music royalty income into his managers' bank accounts, letting them pay him in cash so he could hide it from the Internal Revenue Service.

Documents also show that in 2011 and 2012, he made almost $900,000, but listed his income as "unknown".

"A very strong argument could be made for keeping him in jail", Rakoff said, but he added that judicial authorities are sometimes too quick in the United States to incarcerate people before trial. He faces fourteen tax fraud related charges and up to 44 years in prison if convicted.
