South Korea tells North Korea to stop issuing threats

South Korea tells North Korea to stop issuing threats”

He said the North should be "very, very nervous" and that China can do a lot more to deal with the crisis.

Watch Trump's remarks above.

"The DPRK should cease any consideration of actions that would lead to the end of its regime and the destruction of its people", Mattis said in a statement Wednesday, using an acronym for North Korea.

The latest North Korean threat sparked serious concerns here as it followed a clear and possibly the strongest warning yet from U.S. President Donald Trump, who said the North will be met by "fire and fury" that the world has never seen before should the communist state continue to make threats against his country. "They've been doing this to our country for a long time, for many years, and it's about time that somebody stuck up for the people of this country and for the people of other countries. So if anything, maybe that statement wasn't tough enough".

Trump declined to specify what would be tougher than "fire and fury" or whether he was considering a preemptive strike. "We don't talk about that".

But he declined to say whether the USA was considering a pre-emptive military strike, arguing that his administration never discusses such deliberations publicly.

He said North Korea had been "getting away with a tragedy that can't be allowed".

"Noting that military tension or an armed conflict on the Korean Peninsula will not benefit any country, the NSC standing committee made a decision to take all necessary steps to ease tension and maintain peace under close cooperation with the United States and other key nations based on the strong joint defense readiness of South Korean and USA joint forces", Park told a press briefing. Spot gold was 0.1 percent lower at $1,276.78 an ounce after having spiked the previous day to a near two-month peak of $1,278.66. "It's a propaganda, that's how I feel", he said but added that the military offered an extra reassurance. It's not going to continue like that. "But if China helps us, I feel a lot differently toward trade, a lot differently toward trade", he said. Our allies are safe. I'll tell you what.

"They believe that we are not true USA citizens, when we do have plenty of Chamorro people going into the USA military and serving for their country and dying for their country", he said.

Experts say any kind of conflict between the United States and North Korea could also result in massive destruction within US ally South Korea. And they should be very nervous. Because things will happen to them like they never thought possible, OK?

As for whether the US would return to talks with North Korea, State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said: "The secretary has talked about this a lot".
