Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe injuries right leg”

Denver Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe was carted off the field during practice on Saturday morning after suffering what appeared to be a serious injury to his right leg.

After practice, both Chris Harris Jr. and Aqib Talib voiced relief that Wolfe's injury did not appear serious.

Like the rest of the Broncos' starting defense, Wolfe didn't get much work in Thursday night's preseason opener in Chicago. As one of the main cogs in their defensive line, Wolfe has racked up 100 tackles and 11 sacks in the past two seasons. The Broncos are already without Billy Winn on the defensive line after he suffered a torn ACL and MCL.

Playing in his second year of a four-year extension signed last summer, Wolfe is slated to earn over $7.8 million in 2017. That was our problem a year ago.

Wolfe could not put any weight on the leg as he was helped inside the Broncos' complex. They're going to check to see if we stopped that and come out and try to run goal-line offense, run the ball and pound us until we stop it. "So, you've got to have a guy like him to be able to anchor us".

Action in Denver Broncos camp on Saturday did not start off well.
