I'm alright, only need to obey doctors orders”

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the president said his obedience to his doctors helped in improving his health.

The President's absence from the country has generated controversy and his comments come the same week that protesters took to the streets demanding that he resumes or resign.

President Muhammadu Buhari's media team led by the Minister of information Lai Mohammed today paid a visit to their ailing principal at Abuja House in London.

The visit by his media team is the fourth such delegation from Nigeria in the last few weeks as tension mounts back home over the health status of the 74-year-old leader. "I've now learnt to obey orders, rather than be obeyed".

On how he felt hearing different conjectures about his health, the president said he followed events at home closely, lauding Nigerian television stations and the media for keeping him informed. It gave us a lot of latitudes.

Buhari in London told the team that he has tremendous improvement but awaiting doctors order to return home.

Accompanied by photographs of Buhari and his media team exchanging banters in London, the statement also quoted Buhari as thanking his country folks and other Africans for praying for his recovery. "May God reward them", he said.

Among those the President hosted included the President's Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Matters, Hon.

The Presidency has said that attempts to obstruct government's war against corruption using subterfuge and bluff will not succeed. It also praised Nigerians for rising against the chaotic rout of protesters assembled at the Unity Fountain demanding the return of President Muhammadu Buhari, dismissing such demand as unlawful.
