Mets trade Neil Walker to Brewers, per report”

The Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets have agreed to a trade that will send second baseman Neil Walker to Milwaukee, sources tell FanRag Sports.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports first reported the Brewers and Mets were "close" on a deal sending Walker to Milwaukee.

There were reports that a deal fell through with the New York Yankees before the July 31 trading deadline because of concerns about his injury, but Walker said he is completely healthy.

Rosenthal reported August 9 the Tigers placed Kinsler on revocable waivers, allowing the Brewers to put in a claim on him or wait for him to clear before engaging in trade talks.

The 31-year-old infielder missed a significant chunk of the season after rehabbing a partial tear in his left hamstring and was activated from the 10-day disabled list just three days before the trade deadline.

Walker is a strong addition to Milwaukee's lineup.

The team did not immediately disclose the terms of the deal for Walker, a switch hitter who is batting.264 with 10 home runs and 36 RBIs in 73 games this season. Reyes stepped in and is hitting second against the Phillies' Aaron Nola. An inconsistent offense and failure to produce with runners in scoring position have pushed the Brewers back to even at 59-59 entering Saturday, with Milwaukee looking to snap a six-game losing streak.
