Sessions denounces racial bigotry, hatred as Federal Bureau of Investigation probes Charlottesville deadly auto ramming

Sessions denounces racial bigotry, hatred as Federal Bureau of Investigation probes Charlottesville deadly auto ramming”

Police has been engaged in dispersing the crowds after fistfights and screaming matches erupted in several locations late Saturday morning and the Governor declared the gathering an?unlawful assembly?, CNN reported. "I am heartbroken that a life has been lost here". Not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama.

In addition to those injured in the auto incident, the Charlottesville Police Department said 15 were wounded in other violence related to the far-right march. Trump was accused of racially charged attacks himself, including his re-tweeting of a graphic claiming to show high levels of crimes from African-Americans, though the graphic itself used fabricated statistics and was later found to have been created by a white supremacists on Twitter. No one on the ground was injured, law-enforcement officials say.

Tensions flared in Charlottesville Friday evening when a group of white nationalists carrying lit torches marched across the University of Virginia campus.

The White House was silent for hours except for a tweet from first lady Melania Trump: "Our country encourages freedom of speech, but let's communicate w/o hate in our hearts".

The remarks drew criticism from some GOP lawmakers as generic and insufficient to the moment, and took exception to the president's use of a kind of equivalence in condemning the violence.

"We are going to fulfil the promises of Donald Trump".

While the name of the victim had not been released Saturday night, police identified the suspect arrested in the car-ramming incident as James Alex Fields Jr., 20, of Maumee, Ohio.

Celebrating the Confederate cause is a highly inflammatory issue in the U.S. because the southern states supported slavery.

Samantha Bloom, of OH, confirmed details about her son's vehicle and his trip to Virginia, saying she received a text from him last week that said he'd gotten some time off from work and was going to a rally.

The chaos boiled over at what is believed to be the largest group of white nationalists to come together in a decade, protesting against plans to remove a statue of Confederate general Robert E Lee.

Graphic footage shows the moment Mr Fields Jr allegedly rammed his auto into a group of people before reversing and hitting more people.

Franks joined Jeanine Pirro on Fox News on Saturday evening after President Trump made a statement calling the white supremacist rallies "a display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides". "I urge all people of good will - go home", Signer wrote on Twitter.

"White supremacists chanting Nazi slogans aren't Virginia or America, " Beyer said.

"We all must be united and condemn all that hate stands for".

The violence we've witnessed today is not who we are as a country.
