A popular Facebook group, "Voice of Ram" has used the medium of art to wish our neighbor on Independence Day.

"The way Pakistan is celebrating its independence, we also congratulate the people of India for the independence of their country and we hope there will be peace in this region and both our countries, in fact all the others in this region (subcontinent), will work together for the creation of a peaceful region", Shah told ANI during his country's 70th Independence Day celebrations at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.

The compilation, a lovely emblem of strong vocals and heartfelt emotions celebrating the 71st Independence day of the two countries is compiled in the actual chronological order of the Youm-e-Azadi - it features the Pakistani Anthem before the Indian one.

The video begins with the words, "When we open our borders to art, peace comes along". Starting with the Qaumi Taranah or Pak Sarzamin and then transitioning to Jan Gan Man, this combined rendition - aptly titled the Peace Anthem - is a handsome example of how we can create magic just by forgetting our differences and standing together.

The video already gathered more than 1.35 lakh views. However, in an apparent gesture of goodwill, one group of 5 people have created a video in which they sing the national anthem of Pakistan to say "Happy Birthday" to the country.

Pakistan's Dawn newspaper described it as a "surprise offering", that is "quite a treat to listen to".

Voice of Ram has collaborated with the Indian Acapella Band Voxchord to present a Capella version of Pakistan's national anthem, Pak Sarzamin.

An upsurge of violence in the region and along the Line of Control - the boundary dividing contested Kashmir- has seen casualties over the previous year. "To me, these videos mean a new beginning, another small step towards peace". Some of us Indians care for peace.
