Jazzed up: Honda hatch gets a fresh look

Jazzed up: Honda hatch gets a fresh look”

The facelifted-for-2018 Honda Jazz has been revealed ahead of ordering opening in November 2017. It gets styling tweaks plus an all-new trim level featuring a more powerful petrol engine. Updates to the exterior are rounded off by the addition of metallic Skyride Blue as a new colour option. Around the back, Honda has shrunk the grilles in the rear bumper and has added a revised lower section, complete with a new gloss black strip linking the grilles. This new trim gives the Jazz a sportier look by adding new design touches including a front splitter, rear diffuser, new side skirts, 16-inch black alloy wheels, a small hatch lid spoiler and contrasting red accents.

This will be sold alongside the 102PS 1.3-litre petrol engine, which will be available in every trim level, apart from the new Sport grade, which is another new trim level. Honda has not yet revealed any performance figures, but it'll be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, with a CVT automatic on the options list.

The new petrol engine complies with stringent Euro 6 emissions standards and claims fuel economy of 52.3 mpg and Carbon dioxide emissions from 124 g/km when combined with the Jazz's optional CVT automatic transmission.

Inside the Jazz, the Dynamic trim also brings unique orange pinstripe detailing to the seats, and contrasting orange stitching is also found in certain parts of the cabin.

The additional engine doubles the number available with the Jazz, which is now only available with a 101bhp 1.3-litre petrol.

After making its debut in the metal at Frankfurt, the updated Jazz will be on sale in the United Kingdom this November, but deliveries won't take place until early 2018. The US version of the Jazz, the Honda Fit, claims 0-60mph in around 8.5 seconds, so we'd estimate under 9.0 seconds for the EU-standard 0-62mph run.
